This being the fifth Sunday of the month, I'm taking a break from my weekly mandala making to reflect on the season and my practice. Instead of gathering natural elements on my morning walk, I took my camera with me to capture some of the beauty that may not be available for my mandala making next week.Read More
One spectacular Autumn morning in 2003, I went out for my daily walk and was so captivated by the light and color that I could not resist going back to the house to retrieve my little point and shoot digital camera. Hours passed as if mere minutes, and it wasn’t until fatigue and sore feet became an issue that I reluctantly trudged home.Read More
When I met Carmen Joyce last year while training together as SoulCollage® facitators , I was immediately impressed by her drive and vision help others heal through creativity. She exemplifies what it means to live creativity daily, and always has something wonderful going on with her personal art projects and with the people she serves through the non-profit arts healing organization she founded.Read More
One of the best parts of the various workshops, courses, and training programs I am drawn to are the unique and talented individuals that I meet. Shannon Fitzgerald, a fellow SoulCollage® facilitator, is one such person. As you can tell by her work featured here today, she is a supremely gifted and versatile artist. She generously ferried me, a total stranger, around Charlotte, NC during our facilitator training--saving me from having to rent a car for the week. In that time, we shared many wonderful conversations about creativity, spirituality and our future plans over evening meals and our short commute to Catherine Anderson's studio.Read More
I met Lynn Weekes Karegeannes last August when we were training as SoulCollage® facilitators with Catherine Anderson. We've stayed in touch since then and developed a friendship that I've come to value greatly. Although we live nearly five hours apart, I've had the opportunity to visit her a couple of times for lunch and tea in her lovely Asheville, NC home where she has also created a beautiful studio space. Lynn is a seeker, encourager, and generous sharer of knowledge, resources, and inspiration. My creative and spiritual life has been enriched by knowing her and I'm pleased to introduce my friend Lynn and her art to you today.Read More
Lately I have been feeling under the weather. At first I thought I could be coming down with the flu, but now believe I'm in the throes of a fibromyalgia flare. Almost as soon as I had written about the generative power of creative practices, I was immediately reminded of my personal point of diminishing returns.Read More
Silver Maple in my yard flashes her rich red blossoms. Soon these waxy green periwinkle leaves will frame delicate blue flowers and the clover will bloom.
Lately I’ve been itching to pick up my big girl camera again, and the beauty of these maple blossoms begged me to take a closer look.Read More
